Title: Dual Delay Midi Sync switch back to front
Post by: jeffbart on June 12, 2016, 11:35:42 am
Dual Delay Midi Sync switch is back to front compared to v2.
With the switch down/on and red led showing, delay times are rendered, and current values displayed as ms. With switch off, delay times are divisions of tempo.

For what it's worth, I was able to fix this by just renaming the corresponding pngs in the bitmap folder of the programdata resources.

Thanks, but I nearly broke my Modular V by trying to update the GUI xml file to trying that cables hack, so there's no way I"m getting under the hood for this  :D
I'm happy to have it reported as an issue.

I'm sure once Arturia get over the massive show stopper issues they will get around to these GUI things.

cheers jeff

This is a referenced bug here.
We will fix this nonsense in next version.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

3.0.3.187 has kind of addressed this, though the entire switch now seems reversed, but at least it's function is now consistent.

With the throw switch down, Midi Sync red light is off, and time is in milliseconds.
Throw switch up, and Midi Sync light is on, and time in tempo.

Typically, things are enabled by throw switch being down ( like Sequencer Midi sync, Chorus VCA, midi sync in V2)).
I can live with this as an interesting quirk of hardware.

We wanted to be consistent with current GUI.
I know this reversed regarding the other switches...
Now the LED and the tooltip are ok.

It's true MIDI sync and indicator LED should be on when the switch is down. MIDI sync is the mode that's added the normal mode.
Then the SYNC/ TIME labels should be switched around too.
It's different for the OSC sync that are ON/ OFF switches and ON when the switch down.
Somehow it's visually nice on a double switch if you switch toward the label that indicate the mode you wan't to turn that mode on. Also for GUI consistancy. On is down.
But yes it's a detail. It's important it shows the correct values for the modes.
