Hello, can someone tell me if my V4 user presets will work with V5 plugins ? Thanks.
-
Not at this point, no.
They have a converter that they are polishing up for release tho. :)
-
Thanks ! Cheers.

That sounds promising. Love the new GUIs and browser, and definitely missing the old presets.
Any time line on this converter?

"ASAP" is all I've heard, from one of the threads in here. I forget which one however, sorry.

It's been posted in a couple of threads at least one of which I posted about it in (I may have actually posted about it first).

Phew! This is the information I came here to look for. Can't wait for the converter. I really think V5 sounds great, and the resizeable guis are long overdue. The CS is finally useable - is it me or does it sound lots better too? The new presets are also fantastic- I always made my own because i was never comfortable with the old ones, but these inspire me to start composing straight out of the box. And as for the synclavier... What joy! Huge congrats to the Arturia team on a brilliant upgrade.

Thank you for asking this...
If I am not able to use the presets that i have created over time, then this is not as useful.
I am going to keep using my old instruments...
Having said this, I love the new collection. The synclavier and B3 Rock...

Fortunately the old synths live alongside the new ones and are still usable.
Yes the Synclavier 2 is excellent although missing the sampling/resynthesis features. The B3 emulation on the other hand is only good if you don't have another Hammond emulation. There's little guts to the sound and the Leslie is one of the worst out there. But like all packages there is some good and some not so good.

I seem to have lost Spark, as I was advised to do a complete Uninstall before Installing the V5 package.
Perhaps because I had several versions as I was Beta testing.
Any way that I can re-acquire Spark?

Do you still have your VC4 downloads? I don't know who advised you to do a complete uninstall as it's not necessary for installing VC5. I don't know that being a beta tester would have anything to do with having to do an uninstall.
Actually you may be able to recover Spark through ASC.

It shows as activated, but it never re-installed along with the V-5 package, I'm not sure if Benjamin realized when he emailed me this that Spark would not recycle.

Any news about the preset converter to be able to load v4 presets into v5?

They re-sent me the Spark installation download.

They re-sent me the Spark installation download.
I would immediately save that download to someplace safe so if this happens again you're not left out in the cold. I save every download off to at least 2 and sometimes 3 places depending on the size. Hard drives are cheap nowadays.

I have folders in my email for various categories, Music/Tech being one of them, Pro Tools being another.

I'm not talking about saving the email but the program download itself to a separate place. That way you needn't mess with your email client when you need to reinstall something.

I have Hotmail, so I can access it anywhere, plus, I carry most of my essentials on a flash drive on my keychain.

You are missing the point I'm trying to get across. Saving the email is not saving something for the proverbial rainy day. Why not just save the actual download off to someplace safe? That way you don't have to worry about internet access.

I got'cha, hence, the flash drive.

Still not quite there as I believe in having decent long-term storage and a flash drive ain't it. They're fine for pictures from your DSLR or sneaker-netting from one computer to another but long term storage? Not so much. But hey - if that floats your boat - you deal with it. Me I have my downloads saved off to at least two and sometimes three places - 2 independent hard drives and double layer dvd's. Might sound anal but I've had the odd happening where I was glad I had that kind of redundant backup. You never know where one backup will fail for whatever reason. One thing I learned from aerospace safety - never have a single point of failure.

I have all of the other installation files for the V collection 5 on a separate hard drive, but I'm not as concerned about it so much with Spark, as I use it very little. Still getting familiar with it. It's one of those that if I lost it, it wouldn't stop my workflow.
