Title: Some questions about the Beatstep pro
Post by: tseforum on March 29, 2015, 01:03:01 pm
Hello.

I am looking for a standalone hardware sequencer that works old school like the TR-8 or the old MC-303 and MC505.  Not this pc/mac software rubbish  ;D. I will use only midi in and out for now, so the "old" Beatstep isn't an option, because it doesn't have a midi in.

my questions:
1] Is it possible to use it 100% standalone, like in an live setup? No pc needed? Power by an universal usb supply?
2] is it possible to send all sequencers (so 1 ,2 and drum) to midi? Since the color coding of the sequencers gives the impression its locked to cv and drums to drumgates. I want to use all sequencers for now to midi. I don't have any CV or Drum Gates machine at the moment.
3] is the midi in usable for like a keyboard in? So its possible to play tones and record these in realtime and steptime?

I really hope this is possible, i am looking forward to this machine!

Best Regards,
TSE
