Title: '8-bit' chiptune sounding lead
Post by: lockah on March 15, 2015, 01:20:59 pm
Fine tune the LFO amount so that the pulse is modulating the main note by an exact octave, leave a little decay/release and you have a nice atari/8-bit/chiptune/whatever emulation going on.

I'm a fan of square waveforms so this one is mostly a square with a little metalized triangle wave and sawtooth to bring in the noise/fuzz you get with those old atari sounds. Also sounds REALLY old school if you move the pulse width from min to all the way.

This is reminiscent of some old grime tunes too, you can get the Wiley 'Morgue' lead if you change the Sub osc to play a fifth instead: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kYWuhGG6QcQ

Enjoy!
