Title: using MIDI out just to send Sync?

I breezed through the manual so maybe I missed something, but..

I want to use the Beatstep to only send pitch / gate out on the CV / gate outputs, i.e. not through MIDI.
I only want to use the MIDI Out to send MIDI clock [I am using it with a Pittsburgh Modular MIDI2 which has Sync out, using it to drive other modular sequencers]
It is broadcasting note data on all outputs.

Any ideas on how to limit the output to just CV/gate?
