In Studio view, switching between pads after changing the sample start/end points resets the start/end points (somewhat randomly) to that of previous/adjacent pad.
1) I loaded the same vocal sample onto 4 different pads (9,10,11,12)
2) I edited the sample start end points for each pad to play different phrases in the sample
3) I selected one of the other pads with the same vocal sample to further edit the instrument
4) at this point, the prior sample's start/end points are overwritten with values from the instrument that just gained focus.
*saving the kit at any point does not seem to prevent this problem
Standalone & AU on Mac 10.10.1 w/ Logic Pro X 10.0.7
I would consider this quite an important bug as the functionality of "sampling" is fundamentally broken. Makes sampling vocal parts very frustrating when when my edits keep becoming undone. Doing this outside of Spark is tedious and lessens the utility of Spark as a sampler.

Hi
I tried to replicate your bug but couldnt
Im on windows so might be just mac
Is this what you do to get the sample start/stop to move randomly
http://youtu.be/jIk1YxL4_EE
I put the start green under the letters of the word sampler and the stop red under the layer numbers
I reread your post after i made the video and realised you used the same sample
I retested it using the same sample and results where the same
If you do what I have done and you get the issue hopefully the video will make it clearer

Thanks for the video! But I believe I may have discovered the actual cause and is repeatable, though slightly random. The sample start/end is transferred when using a mouse click to switch the selected instrument from any view in Spark. It does not seem to occur when using the SparkLE controller.
This is much easier to see an test with a longer sample such as a vocal phrase.
1) Add Sample 1 to Pad 1
2) Add Sample 2 to Pad 2
3) Edit Start/End of Sample 1
4) Edit Start/End of Sample 2
5) Click to select between Pad 1 and Pad 2 several times (usually within 4 clicks)
6) Observe that the Start/End points become identical, one having been copied to the other.

What is the size, format and length of the sample ?
Have you an example i can try so i can capture it or rule out mac only
I cant find the sample length limit in the manual but i think it was 4 seconds but im not 100% sure

I've attached a preset with a vocal sample loaded to instruments 1 and 2. I set the start/end points as they should be and saved. For me, just using my mouse to click back and forth on the pads will transfer one of the start/end points, eventually.

Must be a mac bug only

Good thing i can import mac .spk presets and they work ok
Also the sample length limit is a lot longer than i thought

I like your idea of doing screen recordings. Here is one showing two things: first, switching instruments with the controller and not affecting the start/end; second, switching instruments with my mouse which does cause the bug.

Thats got to be really annoying
Good job you got the hardware
Otherwise you have to save every click ::)
Video Capture is the way to go when reporting a bug like that
Its easy repeatable and proved
Now they can go straight to the video and see whats going on and fix it
