Title: Performance data/sequence channel
Post by: djboyko on June 27, 2014, 02:54:04 pm
HI Guys,
I use Beatstep with an old ,but powerful SYNTH module Roland xv 5080 which has a multi timbral mode. Also a TR 8 is connected thru midi.I
have assigned 16 midi instruments on each of the pads midi channel.THE BIGGEST MUST IS : TO BE ABLE TO CHANGE SEQUENCE CHANNELS IN REAL TIME WITH A KNOB?
Any idea when this will be fixed with a firmware update? Thank  you in advance :-)

Do you mean change the MIDI channel used by the sequencer in real time?

Hi you can set the sequencer to be in global mode so you can change the channel of the sequencer to what instrument you want to play.
or just make a different sequence on each memory and midi channel.
i can get the sequence to play on what instrument i like by just changing the channel.
Think this is what you mean .

Thanks terrym. That one works. How about playing all the 16 midi channels at once, again with roland xv 5080.I have akai mpk49 controller and i am wondering how to use the Beatstep and MPK49 together. My idea is to be able to use beatstep as a sequencer and assign the 8 sliders of akai to 2 midi banks, therefore 16 channels and use the sliders to bring in and out each of the 16 instruments from roland multitimbral mode.Any ideas? thanks

Do you use a DAW?
If not, I'm sure you can route 1 channel to multiple on a Midi Patchbay.
