Title: Does MiniMg work with Digital performer 4.12?
Post by: paulcor on April 08, 2004, 08:43:06 am
I played with the demo, but cannot figure out how to get MiniMg working with Digital Performer 4.12 (G4 Mac - 1MB RAM). Help appreciated. Thanks
Title: MiniMg with DP4
Post by: paulcor on April 09, 2004, 08:45:26 am
After two nights of experimenting with the MiniMg demo and reading the DP4 manual twice, still no success in getting the MiniMg sounds into DP4. I have a G4 dual 800 MHz, Panther 10.3.3. I connect my M-Audio 49e keyboard to a USB port on my Mac and it works. I start up MiniMg and it recognizes the keybaord. The sounds produced by MiniMg are beautiful. I start up DP4 and after creating a MIDI track in DP4 and make this track recordable, I play the keyboard. The sound is produced by MiniMg and recorded into DP4, but when playing back this track in DP4, I do not hear the sounds from the MiniMg, but I hear the sounds produced from the keyboard as if the MiniMg was not there. Any ideas? I sure would like to buy MiniMg but it has to work with DP4. Or what am I missing or doing wrong. Please help.

Let's check to see if you are setting it up correctly. First, launch DP. Go to the "project" menu and choose "Create New Track> Instrument Track> Arturia MiniMgV". Next create a new MIDI track(or re-route an existing one) and set it's output to channel 1 of the MiniMg. Record your MIDI on the MIDI track. To turn the track to audio for a final mixdown when you are done in the tracks overview in DP select the entire MIDI track and the entire Instrument track and choose "Freeze  Track"

I hope this helps. All Arturia's stuff works fine in DP 4.12.
