Title: Mg Modular V2.5 new filter can do really great Oberheim OB-X filter!
Post by: UniQue Werkx on March 27, 2010, 06:22:07 pm
Just did another example of RUSH's Tom Sawyer sweep. It's originally done on an Oberheim OB-x. I actually think this is better and closer to the sound the the OP-X! The OP-X is a VST plug-in that's modeled after the Oberheim OB-X. However, I think the new Mg Modular filter is able to get a lot closer to the Oberheim OB-X filter! Just listen....

I did this by using two filters. A 12 dB and the 24 dB filters. I did use two instances of the Mg Modular V2.5 in Cubase 5, with  one panned all the way to the right and one all the way to the left to get that more authentic sound on RUSH's album, "Moving Pictures".
