Title: Mg V Crashes in Standalone
Post by: retroman on January 05, 2004, 05:24:07 pm
Anyone know what would MOST likely cause the MgV to not open in Standalone on Win98SE (updated to currrent drivers)?   I say most, since i know there could be many !  It works on my other (office-not at the studio) PC which is XP, but not on the Win98SE studio PC.   Gets an immediate 'illegal kernal op' error as soon as you open it.   I have already reinstalled it twice.   Being it works on the XP PC, i am fairly sure it is a PC based problem and NOT the Mg software.  However, it works fine in VST as a VSTi.   I don't like using VST though.   Wondering if i am missing a .dll or if its a Program conflict and how to find out.   I saw somewhere on here one may need a .dll from Microsoft?
Thanks,
RM

What sound devices are on the problem PC? Its most likely crashing either enumerating the audio or MIDI devices (in my experience).

Thanks, the non-working (for Arturia) PC has an Aardvark Q10 for the audio driver (updated) and the only other audio related hardware is a USB modem.   It did have a Echo-Mia audio card, drivers are still in PC, BUT are disabled.  Hope this helps?   Any ideas?
Thanks!
