I guess it will be when they'll decide, and of course, no communication to users, it was better not giving any date.

So they advertise April 20th as the release day and when that day comes... silence?

It's after midnight in France isn't it?
What's the point of having a firm date if it doesn't come out? And no word of a delay either?

Yes, indeed, we are late to deliver the new version 2.0 that was announced for April,20. We made the decision yesterday to take another couple of days to make sure the online registratin/installation process works smoothly.
It looked more safe than rush and potentially get a lot of unhappy customers, tons of emails to the support,...
We realize deadlines are to be met and we apologize for this delay. Ideally, we would always be able to meet the target in terms of planning and quality. In today's case, we made the decision to compromise on delays to secure quality. Hope you will understand and find the MiniMg-V2 worth the wait.

Sincerely,

Frederic Brun

Hey a little delay is no problem at all. You're absolutely right not to rush it if you need to make sure the registration process is secure and stable.

As mentioned, it's nice to get the notice the day your expecting it though so you don't bother checking for something that's not coming, that's all.

cheers

@Airspeed
As explicitly written on the Updates page:
If you are a registered user of the MiniMg-V, version 2.0 is free! > More details here (http://www.arturia.com/evolution/en/community/arturia-helpers).

The way to go is to log into your account section: http://www.arturia.com/evolution/en/community/my-account.html (http://www.arturia.com/evolution/en/community/my-account.html)

You either already have an Arturia account or need to create one using your MiniMg-V license number.

From there, you can request an activation code in this area that will allow you to get the MiniMg-V2 running.

Hope this helps.

Again, sorry for the late delivery. We have really spent some time testing and retesting this new version. (The overall compatibility matrix- between the different sequencers, the different protocols, the different OS on both Mac and PC- had over 60 fields.) We hope you are going to enjoy it. Just let us know.

thank you,

Frederic Brun

update: got the new key...I clicked on the "i don't have a syncrosoft key"  link on the right side instead of the "submit" button on the left side.  That took me to the online shop to purchase a syncrosft dongle for $18.00 that said "sold out". I took the door on the right instead of the door on the left, HA! Thanks guys! It's all good now!!!

So far, I have not figured out how to install it on more than one machine.  No problem with putting it on my desktop machine, but when I tried to install it on my laptop, it said that my activation code was already used.

This is true even though as far as I can tell, the license agreement said I could install it on three machines.

Also, I can't find the manual for version 2 -- if I look in the obvious place, I get the manual for version 1.

I've already asked these same questions to tech support; but perhaps someone else already knows the answers...

We hope you are going to enjoy it. Just let us know.

This is fantastic, Frederic. I have been playing around with the synth for the past hour. These new modulation and filtering features open up many great new avenues for exploration within this particular instrument. Thank you to the entire Arturia team for this extremely nice update. Everything is running fine here with Ableton Live 8.0.1 on Windows XP SP2

Kind Regards,

Jason

Okay, here's my problem.

Purchased the miniMg V in 2005.  Registered the product, license code, everything.  Have since purchased prophet v and jupitor v, which both use the syncrosoft key.  Both are listed on my profile along with the license but no miniMg!!!

Downloaded and installed v2 today, but it will not let me use it without a license for the syncrosoft key.  What do I do?????

Ive had a similar problem. Spent the last 2 hours trying to get version 2 working but my MiniMg license number supposedly doesn't exist when I try and register it in my account. All my other serials for the V Collection register fine but MiniMg V - keeps telling me it doesn't exist. And I was so looking forward to playing...now I have to wait for tech support...
Unless someone can see I am doing something stoopid?

Yes I was doing stoopid - if it helps anyone - try rebooting and for some reason then I could enter my serial in the website - must have been some sort of caching issue. Anyway - all installed - love the map browser!

Had to do some digging but I located the V2.0 MANUAL. The current link in manuals still has the V1.0 manual. Now I can figure out how the soundmap works. Here ya go!!!

What happens if you bought your Arturia synths before they started to use dongles? Do you now need to buy a dongle before you can upgrade?

Sweep, hope this helps (click on link below). Make sure to hit the SUBMIT button on the LEFT (not the "I don't have a Syncrosoft key" link on the right) when you get to the activation screen to get a new code for the Syncrosoft E-licenser. I've got a V1.0 CD and everything is working great after entering the new code into the E-licenser (if you have XP it's located in START/ALL PROGRAMS/SYNCROSOFT).   : )

Well I got it working. But unfortunately the VST version doesn't show up in Ableton Live. Wasn't there a beta testing phase ? Were there not people using VSTs on macs?

Rob, did you click on the "rescan plug-ins" button in the Ableton OPTIONS/FILE FOLDER?

Rob, did you click on the "rescan plug-ins" button in the Ableton OPTIONS/FILE FOLDER?

Yes I did, thanks.

edit: I had to trash the Live preferences for it to show up in ableton. And for Kore I had to delete the database files (rescan didn't do it). Ok good. I thought that was going to be like the ARP2600 were it just won't show up (in kore).

cheers

You won't have to buy a dongle. The fact that we are moving to the Syncrosoft system for all our products won't affect you financially:
- we will provide users from previous versions with a Soft eLicenser that will allow them to install the update on one computer.
- updates themselves are free.

Only if you wish to port your license on a Hardware eLicenser (allowing you to use the product on any computer), you will have to purchase a dongle (around 10Eur, I think).

Hi

Cool the GUI-Bug (see here (http://www.arturia.com/evolution/smf/index.php?topic=1042.0)) seems to be fixed now, thank you ;D

Can you also fix the same bug on Mg Modular V, ARP2600 V and CS-80V please!

If this is true, it's a shame.  Because if I understand this claim correctly, if I ever wish to run MiniMg V on more than one computer, I need a special piece of hardware and I need to dedicate a USB port for the purpose.

I hae lots of other music software, and no one else imposes this requirement.  Not Finale, not Ableton, not Sonar, not any of the Applied Acoustics softsynths, not any of the Novation softsynths, and so on.

So if Arturia is imposing this requirement, it's back to 1.6 for me.  I don't have so many USB ports that I can afford to dedicate one of them to software that I use only once in a while.

It shouldn't be a problem, you can use one or more USB-Hubs if necessary but i would recommend to not use bus-powered hubs

I was being partly facetious: The problem is not just the need for a dedicated USB hub.

Part of the problem is the need for an additional piece of hardware that Arturia will not sell me right now even if I wanted to buy one because they're out of stock.  Another part is the imposition of a requirement beyond those of all of the other software purveyors I use.  Yet another is, if I understand things correctly, the fact that if I wish to move the software to another machine and my Internet connection is broken, I'm out of luck.  Yet another is that there is a small piece of hardware that, if lost or broken, makes the product useless.

This is too much of a hassle to be worth the bother to me.  Unless I'm mistaken about the requirements, I'm sticking with 1.6.
