Thanks in advance,

Will Arturia eventually add the eight initial preset banks (A B C D E F G H) that were on the original JP8? They were the ones you could program your sounds off of, and still play if the JP8's internal battery for memory used up its power. (They also were displayed as patch numbers 01-08 on the JP8's LED screen) It would make the VST more like the real Jupiter 8 if this happened. Simply having these presets programed off of the 'Default' sound patch doesn't do them justice.

Also, I keep hearing that more 'top end' (whatever that is) is needed to be added to Jupiter 8V for perfect replication of the Jupiter 8's analog sound.

I'm just downloading the beta now and haven't had a chance to play with it yet but I would just like to to say thanks in advance to the Arturia team for making it available in this way, especially so soon after the Prophet V update, which is sooner than I was expecting! Here's hoping the CPU optimisations do the trick on my system as it's currently pretty much a non starter.

Whatever that is, is a good question.....Instead of wasting the time with this "serious" problem, the people should just make music with it.

will this update fix the dreaded ableton problems where the notes hang on if playback is stopped during a midi note?

Well I must admit - I put the RC on my new machine, which I've never played the J-8V on before. It's a Q6600 based machine, which would have plenty of horsepower so might make for a terrible example. But so far everything I've tried (which wasn't much) seems to be working just fine and the CPU hit didn't seem to be too much more than the other Arturia plugs I loaded up. I'll spend more time on it tonight after work.

On my other "old" machine I can also do some experimentation, but I'll need to do a bit of setup so that I can route MIDI into it, etc. I still have the 1.0 version of J-8V on it, so I can take a look and baseline the previous CPU hit, and then put on the new release and see how it fares.

OK - not that much difference in CPU usage between old and new versions... running as a VSTi in Bidule both old and new versions. I *did* see a bit of better CPU spread between the two cores on my machine with the latest version.

well after a few hours of power testing the new update i can finally send my upmost congratulations to Arturia. Finally i can use the jupe in ableton without having to reload the patch every 5 minutes.

It was a while coming but i feel like i have value for money now in a big way.

nice 1 arturia

Dear Jupiter-8V fanatics,

In case you wouldn't know what to fill your weekend with, be advised we uploaded the 1.1 Beta2 in the sandbox  (http://www.arturia.com/evolution/en/community/beta-test-area.html) (accessible by registered users only)

Here is the changelog:

Code: [Select]
* Fixed bug in KeyTrig that could result in stucked notes (particularly when using several instances)
 * Fixed a bug in the Phaser. The shape was not properly saved
 * Added velocity and aftertouch modulation on voice effects
 * Fixed bug in delay when synced to a very low tempo
 * Fixed a compatibility problem with Kore

As usual, thanx to use the  adequate form (http://www.arturia.com/evolution/en/community/beta-bug-submit.html?prodBetaCode=beta_Jup8_1_1) for detailed bug report.

Have a nice weekend testing the Beta2!  8)

Title: Jupiter Beta

I installed the Beta of Jupiter 8v in hopes of solving some problems I've been having with it.
So far, with only one instance running, the keys still freeze when I change patches.
Hope this helps...

Edit: Lesson learned: You entered manual mode, and the programing controls were enabled.

Concerning top-end: I guess it's something to something on the frequency spectrum that the sound is produced (Jupiter 8V has a lower sounding frequency than the real deal). Some of the strings sound more like Juno 60 or 106 strings, and not like the jupiter 8 as heard in the Nori Ubukata video.

Uhm, what happened to the J8V Beta? The Beta campaign is not available anymore but no final update has been placed. At least i'd like to have the jumping envelope issue fixed.
