Title: Connecting Microbrute to external midi keyboard
Post by: YounGod on November 27, 2013, 07:47:34 pm
Hi everyone

First of all, let me tell you I'm feeling like a child with his most desired toy!! Congrats to Arturia for this amazing sound machine!

I'm getting trouble connecting my MPK49 to the Microbrute via midi. Is it because I'm powering the keyboard via usb cable from the PC (I don't have a power adapter)? Do I have to map a new midi patch on the MPK other than the already included Arturia's? Also, is there a specific order to connect the cables?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Not sure to understand what your saying about Arturia the midi patch.
It depends on what you want to do. Playing notes and wheel, should be fine by default, changing Connection software parameters mapped on CC will require mapping.
By the way check you are using the same midi channel on both machines
there is no specific connection order.

Hi Bruno

I meant the Arturia preset (and not patch) on the MPK49, sorry. I just want to use the MPK as a simple keyboard expansion for the Microbrute (keys and whells) using a midi cable, but I have to power the keyboard with a usb cable connected to the PC. It still doesn't work.  :(

Thanks for your reply, tough.
