Title: MicroBrute Connection Software Bug
Post by: lentoNinos on November 22, 2013, 12:56:14 am
I'm not sure if this is a problem with my unit, or just the firmware.
When I set the gate time in my connection software, or by sending midi CC Short gives me a long length (and half-tempo clock from midi or internal(haven't tested with gate in)), Medium and Long are exactly the same. I determined this by setting the tempo low, running a sequence and changing the gate time on the fly.
Is anyone else experiencing this?

if you are using 1/32 steps, their are only 2 available Gate length, 33% and 66%, because or midi clock resolution limitation.
Do you have you bug in 1/32 or in any step size?

Alright. I just ran through all modes.

1/4 - Short, Medium, Long are all as expected.
1/8 - Short, Medium, Long are all as expected.
1/16 - Short is short, Medium and Long are the same.
1/32 - Short is long, Medium and Long are the same (short).

Thanks for the explanation about why I only get two divisions in 1/32 step mode.  Is it also supposed to be this way for 1/16? I'm guessing yes, because that is what I'm getting.

no in 1/16th you should get 3 lengths. But in could depend on your Tempo knob position. If around max position, the detected midi clock tempo will be doubled (or divided by two at 0 setting).
It could cause the 2 lengths only behavior.
