Hi, I've just started to use an Essential 61, with Analog 4 to pick up where I left off, decades ago, learning to play piano. I'm really starting from scratch... what is the easiest simplest way to add a metronome beat to help me with my exercises?

If you're a Mac user, you have instant access to GarageBand, which (unsurprisingly) comes with a metronome, and would also allow you to record and evaluate your performances and enhance your learning.
Windows? Sadly Microsoft doesn't directly cater for your needs.

Hello,
Any DAW have a click metronome. It's used when recording, but you don't have to record. It's also possible to record a click track and use that.
You can probably also find and download a metronome application for both MAC and Windows. I even think Microsoft store have a free one.
Some standalone software include metronome.
And it's also still possible to use a mechanical metronome for that matter.

Thanks - forgot all about GarageBand!
