Title: V Collection 9 - Can't edit instruments.
Post by: Newcleus on December 01, 2022, 08:16:43 pm
Just purchased V Collection 9 and I can't seem to view/edit any of the instruments, it saying that I need to 'install the latest version'.  I've just installed it all via the ASC so what's gone wrong?

Hello,

So no update is available in ASC?
Which excact version number has your KORG-20. The newest is version 1.1.0.2882.

If you have that version and you when you start of ALV still have the issue, then i suggest you contact Arturia support.

It work here on Windows 10.

Yes, I have that same version.  There are no updates for any of the instruments available via ASC (all give this same error message) and I've checked V9 is all registered/activated in my account.  I'll try a system restart but me thinks it's time for another support request!

Perhaps you can try to clean ALV preferences. I've no idea if it will help.

Your welcome.
Good luck.
It would be nice, if you post the solution.

I will. :)

Tbh although the hardware is gorgeous - I have a KeyLab MkII 61 - the software side has been a disappointing frustration so far.  I'm especially frustrated at having just shelled out £179 for VC9 and it not to work.

If I uninstall / reinstall Analog Lab V would I have to reinstall VC9 again too?

No. It's also possible to download separate installers.

That's the way I finally got Analog V to work.  A royal pain though!

Glad it work now.
Did you use the seperate installer or just a normal reinstall? I thought you had tried a normal reinstall.

I still can't get the instrument editing to work but I'll now try an instrument install using the separate download.

This is interesting though:

Did ASC install 32 bit stuff when it should have done 64bit?  ???

Ahhh... that worked (for the CZ V at least).  8)

So, it appears that there must be a problem with ASC and the way it's installing things on my machine.  ???

Unfortunately there have been many reports about issues with installs from ASC recently. I hope Arturia are aware of this and working on it, if it's about ASC or the installers used thru ASC.

Perhaps it can help reinstalling ASC. But i can't tell.
I have installed my applications using ASC and don't have the issue.

Update:  I have manually downloaded and installed all instruments one by one and they are now working - both in Analog V and within my DAW.

It was suggested by Support that I could simply reset preferences but having done this already I know Prefs not to be the cause (or the solution).

Alas, I don't have much faith that ASC will install or monitor instruments properly going forward.

Update 2: Had a reply from support but they just kept saying 'delete your preferences' (which, as I explained to them, didn't work).  Disappointing.

So, looks like going forward I'll just have to manually install things from now on.
