Title: How to use Pitch/Mod strips for keyboard play while sequence is playing?

Hello everybody,
I really like the Keystep's ability to let me freely play over a running sequence, however, I can't use the pitch/mod strips as they only affect the playing sequence and not the "keyboard play" (this term is used in the manual). IMO this sounds like there's gotta be a feature that addresses this, but I couldn't find anything online yet.

So, is there a way to use the pitch/mod strips for keyboard play without affecting the running sequence?
