I used to own a Keylab MKII, and loved the laptop desk that you could attach to the keyboard.
Has anyone thought about the possibility of making a 30cm x 11cm desk and drilling a couple of holes on the ESSENTIAL 88 to attach it?
I know the ESSENTIAL back panel is made of plastic (as opposed to the metal back panel of the MKII), but I still wonder if that would be doable?

Hi, Nice idea, I encourage you to open the rear plastic and check where can you put the screws.

I would be more inclined to try to glue it with some kind of apoxy resin, which will hold the weight over a much broader area. If you just drill a couple screws into the thin plastic, they could (and probably will in time) just tear out. The drawback is, if you do use some kind of permanent apoxy resin, that shelf is staying on for life.

Yeah, glue and epoxy resin doesn’t let the desk deform. I’ve attached my essential with glue and epoxy. So, it’s been more than 3 months since I made it, and it doesn’t seem to fall suddenly. You have nothing to worry about, buddy. Btw, it’s been quite a long time since your reply here. Did you eventually attach your desk with screws? You know, I’m currently working on my desk for standing work (https://eurekaergonomic.com/glass-desks/), so it’s better to attach the essential 88 desk with glue, actually. Anyway, keep the thread updated.
