Title: Shure SM58 as vocoder mic setup
Post by: Hagen on January 24, 2021, 06:25:16 pm
What's the best way to use my SHURE SM58 as a mic for the MicroFreak?

What adapters do I need?

It seems like I need an adapter that goes from XLR female to 3,5 TRRS jack (CTIA norm)

SM58 (male XLR) ----> XLR female to 3,5 TRRS Jack (CTIA) adapter -----> MicroFreak

Does anybody have some recommendations on how to approach this?

I found this: Saramonic SR-XLR35

But is it CTIA or OMTP? I just sent a mail to the producer.

EDIT:

Bought this cable/adapter and it works perfectly for the MicroFreak. Set the adapter to smartphone mode and set the  gain to maximum +(59db) and you are good to go
