Title: Multiple problems with keylab essential 61 - Live 10 and analogue lab

When in Ableton I am able to use the keyboard to control the DAW but with the play, stop, the faders etc, but I am not able to use the keyboard part to play any instruments. when i press the keys, it does not light up the midi indicator in the top right, but when I use anything else, it does.
However, when I go into analogue lab, nothing I press seems to work and when I go into setting it has the 2 options (keylab essential and midiin 2) but only the midiin 2 actually stays selected?

in the midi control center the light goes on in the top left whenever I do anything so I know that the keyboard is functional. plus when I tried on another computer it worked perfectly so I am sure that this is a software issue.

literally, any help would be appreciated because I don't know where to start,
