As far as Ableton 9 and 10 are concerned my MiniKLab MKII doesn't exist.
It's there in the settings, set as control surface, Input and Output on Midi 1.
In the section below that it is set for track, sync and remote.

When I hit the keys, pads or encoders Ableton flicks the input square to show it is receiving a midi signal:

When hit the keys the midi channels in the session view of Ableton light up to show that a signal is being received from midi:

But when I launch any plugin or instrument there's simply no signal going from my minilab to that plugin. Not even analog lab works.
I have the latest minilab firmware. I have the latest version of midi control centre. I have the latest version of Ableton. Other midi input devices (like my launchpad and launch control) work just fine.
Hell, the Minilab MKIi also works just fine and dandy in GarageBand.
Help. Am I losing my marbles?

HI Andrew_Culture and welcome on this board.
Sorry you're encountering issues, let's help!
To use it in ableton live
in live preferences , set things like this :
Control surface : minilab mkII / Input and output : Arturia MiniLab mkII
midi ports : minilab mkII input and output track and remote on
Then once done, quit prefs and :
To control/browse Live , you have to switch to memory 8 (with shift + pad 8 )
But to play and control synths you have to switch to memory 1 or on any user memory between 2 or 7 if you want more flexibility, as memory 1 is reserved for analog lab ( and memory 8 reserved for ableton live)
Hope it helps,
Feel free to come back to me if needed
best,

Thank you for your help. I have the settings correct in Ableton, as per your instructions and my earlier screen grab,
I pressed shift and pad 1 on the MiniLab while Ableton was open. I also tried pressing shift and pad 1 while analog lab was open inside Ableton. This did not allow me to use the keyboard.
If I run Analog Lab by itself, so with no DAW open, it works just fine.
Help :)

Hi Andrew, could it be, by any chance, that the track you want to play with is not armed for recording? If not armed, you won't hear any sound when playing on your keyboard, even if you see midi data flowing, as you mentioned in your screenshots.
The arm button is the one looking like a rec button next to the vumeter, if this button is red , arm is activated.
Please note that in Ableton standard settings ( in preferences / record/wrap launch) Arm and Solo buttons are set on "exclusive" meaning that only one track can be armed or soloed at time.
Maybe during your experiments , solo and arm were on exclusive mode, and arm was already busy on another audio or midi track.
Hope this helps,
best,

Oh my goodness, how embarrassing! Yes, record was not armed! :-[
Thank you VERY much for your help :)
