Title: outboard reverb suggestions
Post by: cwhiley on January 14, 2018, 08:40:22 am
I'm thinking pretty hard about getting an outboard reverb effects unit for the Matrixbrute since the analog reverberator is kind of odd and I don't particularly care for the sounds it makes.

Has anyone tried any?

I'd REALLY like to get a Strymon Big Sky or even a Blue sky but they are NOT cheap.

So...my short list is probably a TC Electronics Hall of Fame 2 (runner up to the Creamer), Digitech Polara, T-Rex Creamer (my current fav because I found a used one for less than $100), JHS Alpine, Boss RE-20, or even the Electro Harmonix Cathederal.

Thoughts?

If you can afford it I'd go for the Eventide H9. It has all the effects eventide ever developed. A marvellous pedal!!

Get a second hand mx200 or 400 from lexicon and you will be more than set.
For myself I use an even older one because I love the sound.
The lexicon Alex ❤️

I don't know if this thread is still active, but I just recorded a work on the MB ran through the Boss RE-20 (subtle use of the reverb rather than overt).

If still interested in hearing the combination, you can hear it here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N0ZrWjNy9kE

All best
