Title: ARTURA BEATSTEP PRO - KORG APR ODYSSEY
Post by: mirother on November 26, 2017, 01:16:11 am
HI!

Who knows how to connect correctly the BSP and the Korg Odyssey?

BSP Gate - Odyssey Gate In
BSP Pitch - Odyssey CV In
simple...

The pitch change works fine but not the gate (and the pads of the BSP).
Have I to change some settings in the MCC?

Thank you

Hi mirother,
I do not know Korg Odyssey, but AFAIK, Korg use S-Trig for Gates and Herz/Volt for CV. You should set it properly in the MCC DEVICE SETTINGS.

Regards,
Y.

No, Korg Odyssey, unlike the famous MS-20, uses V-Trig and 1V/Oct, see  http://www.korg.com/us/products/synthesizers/arpodyssey/specifications.php.

If you still haven't work it out make sure the cables are inserted firmly into correct inputs (the BSP has additional 'velo' cv output in the middle, perhaps you've inserted gate cable there by mistake?). Do not use any other cv sockets on the Odyssey, just 'CV IN' and 'GATE IN'.
Refer to manuals - the one from Korg includes pictures showing how to connect Odyssey with their SQ-1 sequencer.
Note also that envelopes on Odyssey should be set to 'KEYB GATE' as otherwise they will be triggered by lfo.

Hope this helps,
Michał
