Title: BSP keeps crashing after firmware update
Post by: Mowgli on July 12, 2017, 02:47:05 pm
Since I updated to the latest firmware my BSP keeps crashing. It completely freezes sometimes while changing patterns. Anyone else getting this? Y use my BSP for live performance and as it stands it's unusable for that!

Hello Mowgli,
I think you may have performed the update with an old MCC version.
Be sure to update you MCC and perform a "reset factory" on the BSP (do not forget to backup all your BSP data as you will loose everything).
It should be ok afterward.

Regards,
Y.

My BSP has been crashing frequently since the 2.0.0.2 update -- 4 times in the same evening a couple of days ago.

Yes, I had updated MCC to 1.7.0.217 prior to installing 2.0.0.2.  Though I hadn't performed a factory reset.  After seeing this thread I performed the factory reset.  I thought things seemed better, but I've just had the BSP freeze on me again this evening.

As others have noted, it seems to be triggered by changing patterns.

I was using Swing at the time.  Maybe the fixes to swing behaviour in 2.0.0.2 have introduced a new bug ?

Hi,

I didn't see anything new in my mailbox, but I tried the link you gave me previously and that worked.  Grabbed the 387 kB file.
I'll give it a thorough testing over the weekend and report back.  Thanks.

Lenny.

@grec I've had difficulty responding to your email (they keep bouncing), but the good news is that the test firmware you sent me (2.0.0.22) hasn't crashed in the last 2 days that I've been trying to make it crash.  :-/

Recall that I'd found a consistent way to make 2.0.0.2 crash within 5-10 minutes, so I think 2.0.0.22 is good for release.  :-)

As I mentioned elsewhere re the Looper causing a similar crash, if I was right in thinking this crash was related to the Swing bug fix in 2.0.0.2, then hopefully 2.0.0.22 will be good for that Looper related crash too.

@grec : I've been trying to email both you and Guillaume for the past week, concerning this crash problem.  My emails keep bouncing (timing out).

To cap it all I've just received an email from support asking why I haven't responded re request 503402 / case 356424 (i.e. this crash problem) !!!

When will this update be released?

My BSP also keeps freezing and I'm ready to return it to my dealer for a refund.

I did the factory reset with the new MCC, latest firmware installed.

I don't know but if you contact Arturia support (open a ticket), they will give you a firmware that solve this issue.
