Title: 3 pads won't lightup ..

Both octave pads and the minor pad will not light up....is that normal, or is it defective out of the box? Thanks

the octave pads  + -  only light up when you go up and down an octave  they flash faster the higher or lower you go
when they are both out your back at a central position

as for the Minor pad not lighting up.  the top row of pads represent  black keys , so that's why  IE  2 black keys  (gap) then 3 black keys

so no there is not a fault, this is how it is supposed to look
