Title: ASC process
Post by: rsturge on October 30, 2016, 02:59:50 pm
I need clarification of what ASC is doing, specifically, is it checking my software each time I go to use it, or just initially to confirm I have an activated product.

I have a new PC I want to run off line primarily.  I reinstalled Collection V4 upgrade on the new PC, and activated all products, but the following day I started up offline and got the message my products were not activated.  I reactivated them, burning one of my 5 activations in the process, but now I am concerned if I try to load them up again while offline, I will end up out of sync and have to burn another activation.

Can someone explain what the ASC is doing, so I might avoid burning activations unnecessarily.

Hi
You say you have a new laptop did you deregister on your old laptop first? The Asc is there to activate your products once this is done its stored on your PC. But you need a connection if you want to install new updates or products.

Thanks for the reply.  I am not sure what "deregister on your laptop" means.  I thought registering meant going to the myArturia site and associating my product serial number with the product.  I thought activating is associating my PC with the product.

But at any rate, as long as after activiating once  I can work offline then I am good.
