Title: Audio interface and daw problem

I've had a microbrute for awhile now, but I've only just decided to use it in conjunction with reason 8 (external midi instrument plug in)
I have an alexis io2 express audio interface.
I'm using a mono 1/4 jack from the line out of the microbrute, to the line in on the interface, then a midi out to usb into my laptop.
The audio interface is showing up in the daw but I'm not getting a signal.
Any help would be greatly received

Just note that the Microbrute's MIDI implementation is minimal (as is the case with most true analog synths).  Although it sends pitch, gate and velocity MIDI info, that's about it, except a handful of CC messages that are reserved for setting the parameters in the MicroBrute Connection software, without having it running.
