uhhh. all of the scales are in the key of C. is there a way to change what KEY you are in?
Key as in musical key, so like the C major scale is all white keys, sure. but the D major scale has a couple black keys in there. so i dont always want to select notes in the C major scale when i'm in the control mode. Derp. Seems like marketing BS to me.
Please someone make me look stupid by telling me, it's easy, just do this!

- Also a total N00B to BeatStep -
What about this:
try holding SHIFT and turning the Big Knob.
I know that in CNTRL mode, that moves the range of notes triggered by the pads (-/+24 in half steps)
I think it does the same to your sequence in SEQ mode.
While we're at it: Hold down SHIFT and turn these --
Knob 1 - Gate (50%-99%)
Knob 2 - Swing (50%-75)
Knob 3 - Legato (off/on/on reset)
Sorry if I got any of that wrong, or if it's repeated a lot.
I just got this thing and am trying to comb through the forum and figure out how to troubleshoot and use it.

yes this works to change the key by transposing the scale
the only problem is that when you use the encoders to change the step notes when the pattern is not playing the notes played are not the transposed ones but the original scale pre-transposition which is a bit confusing.
