Title: My Minibrute demo
Post by: Rokk on January 31, 2016, 01:24:09 am
Hi everyone!
I made this demo today as I love sound design and I had lots of fun playing and tweaking my Minibrute. I wanted to show both it's well known aggressive side as well as it's less known softer, warm side.
Enjoy!

In fact I'm totally wondering how you made the first sound used in your demo. Sounds so 80's new wave, in the most positive way! Very fat.

It is pulsewidth modulation with a fast sine LFO plus the ultrasaw, with a fast setting, plus a sinewave sub one octave down.
The combination of heavy modulated pulse and saw together gives this interesting fat texture which is still quite smooth, yet a bit metallic. The osc levels were very low, like one quarter of the available volume. The brute factor was zero. In this way I managed to make it sound fat, yet quite smooth for what it is. The filter envelope part is pretty obvious I think.
