Title: BSP and Volca Series Clock Sync
Post by: peteone43 on September 25, 2015, 03:04:53 am
Hi all,

Apologize if the question has been asked before, I briefly looked through the forum and didnt really find the answer.
Is it possible to correctly sync tempo using clock out from BSP to any sync in on volcas? also for sq1
the start stop works but volcas are running twice the speed.

my midi control center settings for sync as as follows

clock in/out 1step
tap tempo 4
tempo project
wait to load project off

btw can someone explain these options.

or is clock in/out ONLY for din-sync for old roland gear 808,909 etc ????

Im just curious i can use midi of course..

thanks guys!

I did try and I couldn't get it to work, although I could semi fool it into working using one of the drum gates as a clock -far from ideal.
I did see a post from terrym who said they are working on it for a future update

Was it a hertz volts thing?

From memory korg gear uses a different clock to cv, but that you can convert it to hertz/volts and it should work.

So maybe use cv, but on hertz rather than 'clock'

I got an answer previously to this question. See http://forum.arturia.com/index.php?topic=84876.msg122098#msg122098

Hi,
For the Volcas Korg use their own clock sync which is not a standard. It probably be a future new feature. However you can try to set the clock in 1 step and change your drums' time division.
About the midi channel per pad on drums we will discuss to implement this feature as they are many demands.

Seems like it could be a future update to the bsp but it doesn't work well today (I tried adjusting the clock step and time division but it still wasn't perfect).
