Title: How to control Microbrute with Elektron A4
Post by: wizzmen@yahoo.fr on April 05, 2015, 09:15:23 pm
Hi people. I'm not succeeding in driving my Microbrute with A4 CV/Gate. This concept is still fuzzy, despite checking forum and trying myself. Does one of us could help me in how to set up he A4 and the Mod matrix. My idea is to use A4 sequencer and Fx with the sound of the Microbrute. Any clear and step by step description is over welcome, tutorials as well. Thanks in advance and keep enjoying this small but beefy synth!

My minimal studio uses an A4 / Microbrute arrangement too. There might be more efficient CV settings, but mine are as follows:

A4 Function > Global > CV Config:
 - CV Config A: Type = Gate; Polarity = V-Trig; Level = 5.0 V
 - CV Config B: Type = Pitch V/oct

Using split cable, connect CV AB Out to Microbrute:
 - A4 CV A out to Microbrute Gate In on back of machine
 - A4 CV B out to Microbrute Pitch In on Mod Matrix

Microbrute Line Out to A4 Input (Right)

On A4, select FX track, then External In parameter button - increase track volume and set the pan (you should hear the Microbrute coming through the A4 now if you play some notes on the Microbrute); you can also set your effect levels here, too.

Select CV track and you should have the ability to play the Microbrute using the mini A4 keyboard and add trigs on the sequencer.

2 awesome machines. . .
