My Beatstep came without the midi-cable. So I wonder whether I can use any 5 din-to-audio jack-adapter to connect beatstep to my midi-gear (minibrute for instance) or is there a difference between these cables used for "midi-data" and "for audio", are the pins connected differently? the cable i tried did not work...

 Does anyone have an idea?

 thanks in advance

HI , you need to use a 3.5 jack (mono) to midi connector .
i found one on ebay  . not sure the stereo jacks work .

Thanks. So there are cables with the same connectors (jack-to-din) which are internally wired differently, either for audio or midi use?
However, on the package of the beatstep it is definitely a stereo-jack.

I have 2 jack (mono) to din connectors supplied by arturia and they are both mono jacks ?

This is a confusing area with no industry standard. I discuss it in this video that show how to make your own replacement cable
