So.. i have plugged in my Microbrute to my laptop via usb
Downloaded microbrute connection software
followed the pdf on firmware update (turned on with octave buttons etc...)
I did everything on the instructions then .... blam .... "unable to prepare the device for update. Please check your connections".
the microbrute shows as updater in device manager but not in 'my computer'.
And yes i have closed all other applications running midi/audio, or that i know of anyway!
Any ideas?

Same thing here, no instrument found, the software was unable to find a microbrute connected to the computer

can we get a bump on this please, need some help from one of the arturia mods please

Hi there,
Please check that no other app is running while doing this update.
Are you running the updater on a MAC or on PC ?
-
Ben is right, also test it with another usb port.

Hi Ben, Hi Dave
I tried another USB cable and i can now connect to microbrute connection, but only if i power up the microbrute normally
microbrute connection informed me the firmware needed updating, when i tried to retrieve the update I receive a checking error message that states
this file is not a microbrute crypted firmware file.
best regards

Are you sure your pointing on a .mbf file as a Firmware update file ?
-
I click on the firmware update tab and then click on the update firmware
i dont see any .mbf file
-
In the folder where there is MicroBrute Connection.exe you should have a "MicroBrute_Firmware_Release_V1.0.3.2.mbf" file.
When you click on update firmware button the program will automatically load this firmware and update your MicroBrute.

Hi Ben
I do have the file but it is showing up as a PDF, very strange
any way thanks for your help and prompt replies and sorry felix for hijacking the thread
best regards
jay

Have you been downloading the file from here ? :
ftp://downloads.arturia.com/downloads/MicroBrute/mcc/MicroBrute_Connection_V1.0.3.2.zip
Once you've downloaded the file unzip it in a folder.
Inside the folder : MicroBrute_Connection_V1.0.3.2 you'll have 2 folders MAC/WIN
Inside your OS folder you should have : MicroBruteConnection software and the firmware : MicroBrute_Firmware_Release_V1.0.3.2.mbf

I am using a pc, i am closing every progrqam down, inclucing even programs like microsoft word etc.. The microbrute does work with other computers with the firmware update, i have tried it on two others, the problem i find is that my computer recognises the microbrute, but it does not try to update the hardware or make the sound when i plug it in and shows as not connected, so it cannot do the update, whereas on the other pc i tried it on it does connect after update, ive also tried it in multiple usb slots, is it a computer fault?? All my other usb devices do work, so its quite confusing

Could you try with another computer ?
