On my origin keyboard (Firmware 1.3.50) the footswitch control isn't working.
The footswitch itself is working, I've used it with other synths and I've just tested it with a meter. I go into the Perf tab of the Progr settings and I set the Footswitch to Arpeg. On/Off with a Toggle switch. The footswitch itself is plugged in to the correct socket. Nothing happens when I activate the footswitch.
What else should I be doing? I have tried different settings for the parameters listed above.
Perhaps on a related note, the description of the Perf tab in the 1.3 manual does not mention the footswitch at all...?

Really? No one else has tried using a foot switch with the Origin?

I use the Footswitch on the Origin all the time.
In the description of V1.3, it says:
Switch pedal:
It is now possible to configure the switch pedal action in the 'Performance' page.

Does your pedal work when Footswitch is set to Sustain?
(it should control the HOLD button)
Latch mode means you have to hold the pedal down to keep the action.
Toggle mode means that each new press on the pedal changes the action.
You can also reverse the polarity of the footswitch in the Home/Settings/System2 page.
The options available for the Footswitch are:
- Sustain (Hold)
- Seq Loop On/Off
- Portamento On/Off
- Rotary Speaker Slow/Fast (if this effect is assigned to one of the 3 FX)
- Seq Play/Stop (you have to play at least one note on the keyboard for the sequencer to start after turning it On)
- Arpeggiator On/Off (you have to play at least one note on the keyboard for the arpeggiator to start after turning it On)
- FX1 On/Off (if there is an effect assigned to it)
- FX2 On/Off (if there is an effect assigned to it)
- FX3 On/Off (if there is an effect assigned to it)
The only issue I know is with the Arpeggiator, there can be some locked notes if you switch the pedal while playing on the keyboard.

I guess I must have a faulty unit then, because none of the footswitch settings make any difference to behaviour - sustain mode does not switch HOLD on/off. I've tried inverting the polarity of the switch, and varying all of the other parameters too :(

Well, I have a replacement unit now... everything seems to be working fine, but still keeping my fingers crossed!
It's an amazing synth...
