Title: same firmware for desktop and keyboard?..
Post by: kokocalamar on October 21, 2010, 09:20:04 am
Hello,

I was wondering, now that the Origin Keyboard is out: will future firmware updates be released simultaneously for both the desktop and keyboard version? Is it the same firmware?

(I mean, we won't see updates released for one, and not for the other, will we?..)

Thanks.

Hello,

The same firmware works on both Desktop and Keyboard versions.

Some pages (like the ribbon controller configuration or the velocity/aftertouch curve settings) are simply hidden when the firmware recognizes that it is running on a Desktop.
Also, any version prior to 1.2 cannot be put on a Keyboard because it was not supported by the 1.0 and 1.1 firmwares.

Thanks Niccolo, now I don't have to worry about competing firmware versions between the desktop and the keyboard!  ;)
