I've got anOrigin (re-selled )
iMac 27" No HUB Usb used (direct connection) Leopard 10.6
Origin Connection : installed
Issue :
First connection with my computer. The soft Origin Connection is telling me this : "connecting to origin".....Since 50 minutes, nothing happen, connection seems to never finish or never end, nor never realized !

Please note that I'm using Connect on a WinPC.
However: Normally it should get linked after a few seconds. However there can occur some problems with USB.
For me it works best, if I disconnect another USB-Midi-Port before connecting the Origin. I have to use Origin always at the same USB Port to avoid problems.
Moreover I deinstalled the USB-Device-Driver manually from time to time. No idea if you can do this on a mac as well.
I don't know if this helps, but you can ask the offical support as well or check this forum for further clues.

Connection to my iMac 20" takes few seconds. And i have all USB ports used with a HUB. You should try on another computer to verify where is the problem.

What is the version of Origin Connection and the firmware version?
If it is not already done, please install the latest version of Origin Connection on oyur computer and try again.

Kevin, it's funny !
Because it's impossible to update the Origin without connecting it to a computer.
So, I cannot update ! Because connecting is know impossible !
Nonetheless, the firmware of the unit is now 1.50
I think I'd better use another computer than my iMac 27"
Why buying such an expensive computer if connecting to an Origin is so hard ?

Are you sure your firmware version is 1.50? :o

What Kevin intended to say is that you should to install the latest version of the Origin Connection software, that you find in the last Origin update package. Even if you can't install the firmware, you can always install the software!
If your problem persists, you should definitely contact the technical support. Maybe just try another USB port before, just in case.

Did you try to RESET the Origin in the system menu?
