Title: Jupiter8v GUI slows down Logic 9.0.1
Post by: w-berg on September 28, 2009, 12:35:06 pm
i have a problem with the jupiter8v in logic 9.0.1. whenever i open the gui everything slows down graphicwise and gets extremely sluggish.

f.e. changing cutoff by mouse takes several seconds. not only until the position of the slider changes, also the change in sound tekes several seconds. the whole behavior of logic is affected too. when hitting stop on the keyboard it takes 5-10 sec until logic really stops when jupiter's gui is opened.

when the gui is closed everything seems to work fine, so it seems like it's a graphic thing.

i'm using version 1.1.1 with logic 9.0.1 on a mac pro 3.2 ghz 8-core running 0S 10.5.8

Confirmed. Two instances of JP8V with one GUI opened to make slider changes causes very slow slider movement and Logic very unresponsive.
Using Logic 9.0.1 and JP8V 1.1, Mac Intel.

Any ideas when this will be fixed? You can't even use the plugin properly.  I'm now using Logic 9.1, Mac Pro Quad 2.6, 4GB RAM.

Actually Jupiter-8V uses a lot of CPU (that's explained by its great sounds quality).

Anyway the CPU used depends on the patch played. In order to decrease this problem you can:
- Use as less voices effects as possible (after and before the filter)
- Decrease the envelops release
- Decrease the maximum amount of voices (overall when using a pad with a long release)

All the best,

Denis

Lucky (for me) Digital Performer (currently using v.7.12)  and Mainstage version 8 do not seem to have these CPU overloading issues (on a MBP 2.4 SantaRosa (2007) laptop.) But maybe, as Denis says, I'm just not pushing it as hard.

Same as here.

Mac Pro 2.66 Quad / 6gb Ram / Logic 9.1.1

Using Jupiter 8 V2.

Really annoying. My testicles go into my mouth whenever it starts jittering like that as I am afraid of a crash or a corruption of some kind that will ruin my work. So therefore, I cannot use it.

Joking aside - Its a really nervous time until it settles down. Its nothing but a pity cos its unusable in its present condition.

Please release an update for it soon Guys.

Any idea as to how many % of the work has been done?

This fine Synth, and obviously one of the Jewels in your crown, is absolutely useless to me & others at the moment.

Cheers,

J

Same problem running:

Mac Pro 8 core, 10 gb ram, using Logic Pro 9.1.1

When will a fix be release?

Thanks

The Jupiter was one of the main reasons for purchasing the Arturia V Collection, but it slows down Logic so much it is totally unusable. This problem as been known for almost a year now, so one would expect a solution by now.

OSX 10.6.4 Logic 9.1.3 16Gb RAM Mac Pro 8-core

they have to test it rigorously on multiple systems before a public update ,otherwise we could have updates everyday with potential fixes, most of the industry have better things to do than beta test every potential fix , there is probably a small team working on Jupiter and probably even the entire product catalog, its a tough buisness i think we should be grateful they publicly acknowledge the bugs , try getting that from korg lol
