Title: latency question
Post by: jwilde on January 21, 2008, 11:01:24 pm
All, I've got a latency issue I'd like some help with.  Ive got the latency slider as far left as I can before the sounds start crackling, but its still just to long for realtime playing...trying to play along with other tracks Ive recorded on my Kurzweil is just not possible.  My PC has 3 gigs of memory, a dual AMD processor, and Im using an M-Audio 191 sound card, so I THINK Ive got enough muscle here.  Anybody have any tips on reducing the latency any further?

Hi,
Do you use the ASIO drivers of your soundcard?

Thanks for the reply.  No, I use the direct x setting on the miniMg.  Will the asio setting make a difference?

just a note for users of soundcards without asio drivers. try the asioi4all driver (search for asio4all in your browser) its easy to install, and will get a good sound response time for your midi keyboard controller. enjoy your music! :)

hi again, found some issues with various asio sound drivers, causing system freezes etc, see my main post on this... no solution yet... :(
