Hi, I am a complete novice here. Trying to sync the MB and sequencer to my Zoom RT-223 drum machine. It has midi in and the rear panel looks like this.

Is it right that the Zoom only got Midi-In? That's bad. You will need some external gear, drummie or something with Midi-out, that sends clock. You can than send this clock to Midi-through-box and connect Zoom and Microbrute to it. It also should be possible to use some midi-interface like M-Audio Midisport 2x2 (20 bugs on ebay) and an software-sequencer like http://www.filter24.org/seq24/ (http://www.filter24.org/seq24/) (free software!), then you can controll Zoom and Microbrute through seq24 if everything is set up correctly and Zoom and Microbrute are hooked up to Midisport.

Thanks for the info. I guess I could do it by computer, but that has it's drawbacks.

Or sell the zoom and get something that you can hook up over midi like Korg Es-1 (Midiin, out, through). Electribes, especially first gen, are cheap these days. Bought one for about 100 € few months ago. Really fun to play with. . .

Got it going with my Ipad, DM-1 app, and the CCK. All stuff I already had. The DM-1 sends clock to the Ipad via the CCK and midi/usb cable. Could do the same thing with the iphone.
