Title: Legacy maps created in Spark & the Laboratory midi control panel
Post by: stuey on November 18, 2013, 07:39:57 pm
HI

So, with the many maps I've created in the old versions of the MCP, these are in a .smc format. I note that the .spark files created when you export from the new MCP, are different. Is there a way to export the old version so that it can import the into the new MCP?

Or is there a way to upload from my old version and somehow download it from the hardware, into the new MCP?

This also affects this thread I posted a while back where two sets of mappings need to be set, one on my Arturia instrument, (in this case the Mini V) and the other on the hardware

Thanks,

Same, here. This one will disappear into the dark void that is, You've paid us, we don't care… So I assume that you.

A: Don't use the new MCC
B: Don't know what it does, or
C: Have just recreated your entire Midi mappings (Which I find hard to believe)

Note: When you make a product that supersedes an already existing product aimed at doing the same tasks, do we not think it would be an idea to make them in some way compatible?

Just to clarify.

This is using the Arturia suite of instruments as midi control surfaces. These are configured via an xml document and can be found in the specific keyboard control folder. For the miniMg V that is:

/Library/Preferences/miniMg V/control

It's then a case of saving the physical mapping on the controller and saving the above file to any other machine that needs the control. (In the exact same directory)
