I was planning to get a Keystep 37 to control a bunch of hardware synths for my (mostly) DAW-less setup. I saw Minifreak was released and understood it to have the same hardware MIDI functionality of the Keystep, obv also plus the synth. So I figured it was a no-brainer to just get the Minifreak to add another synth rather than just a controller. One of the reasons I landed on the Keystep was chord mode.
While I absolutely love the Minifreak as a synth, I was disappointed to find that chord mode doesn't seem to work with external gear. When I have chord mode enabled and play a single note, the Minifreak plays chords, but whatever gear the MIDI out is controlling only seems to receive the single root note rather than the full chord. Am I missing something, or is this intentional?
If so, I really hope that it is addressed in a future firmware update.
