Title: Time Shift not in sync with external hardware
Post by: CouldBeAName on July 05, 2022, 09:24:11 pm
Hi everyone,

may be someone might help me out here:

So, I had a timing issue when working with the KSP and a DrumBrute.
Former topic (yep, wrong category):
https://forum.arturia.com/index.php?topic=109179.0 (https://forum.arturia.com/index.php?topic=109179.0)

TL;DR:

Now I'm experiencing the same when working together with another drum machine (DM).

Description:
First notes on the KSP are initially being triggered at a time shift of "0". Or let's say: the sequencer starts at time shift "0".
But the DM is already starting it's beats at a time shift of "-49" (probably, since it doesn't know time shift). Even when using shuffle(/swing) on the DM, I'm not able to counterbalance it.

This is especially present/ noticable at the start of a sequence or when doing a kick-start of the DM and another synth.
I'm using the DM this way on purpose, so I have one more track for another synth.

What I tried:
May be someone does have a work-around or I overlooked something.

I don't know, if Arturia would say "Works as designed/intended". But it would be great, since it's the very first note/step, if the KSP also was able to play notes with a time shift lower than "0".

My current setup - troubleshooting/ reproduction
KSP is master
KSP --MIDI (MIDI Out 1) -------------------> Audio Interface --> USB <----> Laptop (vst)
|                                                                          ^      |
|                                                                          |       |-----> Headphones
|                                                                          |
|-- MIDI Cable (MIDI Out 2) --> DM --> 1/4 inch Jack

Kind regards,

CBAN
