The C1 note on my keylab 88 is responding to various velocities but what it puts out is about 30 hotter than all the other keys on the board.

If this is the Mk1 then almost certainly this will be cured by disassembly and cleaning of the keybed circuitboard. The ability to do this is going to depend on the technical competence of whomever you entrust with the task, be it you or someone else.
If this is the MkII and it's new, return it in exchange for another.

Thankyou MajorFubar. That did the trick. It was a bit of an adventure, is you suggested might be the case but all is well that ends well.
