Title: Loud cracks/thumps in the sound - Pigments 3
Post by: dusan.cani on April 24, 2021, 11:17:57 am
There is something wrong with the sound as in many of my patches from 2.0 a loud cracks/thumps appear.

I am attaching example mp3 file + source patch.

Can anyone confirm this bug ?

Hi,

I can't tell, if there should be a malfunction in the Surgeon filter. But the Surgeon filter is very steep (64 dB/octave). And you open and close both the filter and the gate very fast.
Perhaps Arturia should have a look at the Surgeon filter, when used this way.

If you in example instead choose the Multimode filter and use the LP36 filter, then your preset will sound the same - but without the unwanted blobs.

Hi LBH,

Yes, it has definitely something wrong with the Surgeon filter. It's the major problem because Surgeon filter is now unable to use with envelope modulation. This issue wasn't present in 2.0.0.747 version.

I wonder that this obvious bug wasn't revealed in beta testing. Just first patch I've played showed me this problem after P3 upgrade.
