Title: My Essentials Channel knobs only controlling pitch

So my essentials usually works fine, but at the current moment the channel knobs only control the pitch.  However, this is only if I have MIDIIN2 selected in the MIDI Settings under "MIDI Devices".  If I don't have that selected, the knobs control nothing at all.  It's a minor inconvenience since I can just adjust this with my computer but that kind of defeats the purpose of having those knobs.  It's just a bonafied keyboard in this state.  Also, what exactly is the "MIDIIN2" selection in the MIDI Devices?
