Title: map keys to play drum in Ableton

Hi guys.
Old timer musician but totally newby MKII user here.
Gotta a question please. Is it possible to map the keys to play drum in Ableton instead of using the pads? been playing piano for almost 23 years, but find a little dificult to use the pads.

Hi and welcome to Arturia forums.

Yes you can. Your controller send out midi notes. The question is more about how the relevant drum device/ application work. I suggest you ask in the relevant forums about that.

I don't know why you think it's difficult to use your controllers Pads. But i can inform, that your pads also can be set to send the needed midi notes.

No matter you use the pads or the keys, then the control messages for playing drums is midi notes. Everthing is like playing any synth. It's just about find out, on with midi notes the drums are. Different applications can be set different by default.

It appends to me at the beggining :
Once you have added the instrument (drum) in your clip you may not ear sound because sometimes drum is on octave position + or - on your Minilab : with button oct+ or oct - you change the position and try again...
