Title: Oscillator's Phase/Retrigger options
Post by: djerzinski on July 17, 2020, 10:45:43 am
Am I missing something or are there features absent from pigment?

This is a little troublesome when making bass patches (with amplitude cancellation and all that).

Hi,

Set the phase distortion to zero and choose key retrig.

Hi,

For the Analog modules Osc's set the "Drift" to Zero.

In the Wavetable modules you have the options in the PHASE MOD Sync/ Retrig like Igro tell. However - The setting to choose may depend on other settings in the sound.

Thanks for the info, I'll try that later.

I have been looking at the KEY sync/ Retrig in the PHASE MOD of the wavetable module - and  it actually seems not to work like exspected.

Yeap, Its function can be described, as "hit or miss". It doesn't  work when the UNISON is involved. For instance, when you set the phase distortion (both amounts, there are two knobs) to around 300, there will be a random weirdness regardless the Key sync. Same thing applies to wavefolding. In others words, Pigments is missing a proper phase retrig option. And also phase offset option for oscillators would be cool - you need this when doing percussive sounds.
