Hey guys/gals,
I'm hoping that I'm doing something wrong and it's not an issue with the MB.
Switch it on -> give it a few minutes to warm up -> reset all oscillator setting to a basic Saw wave going to the VCF1 that's fully open -> press and hold Preset & Panel buttons -> there is either no sound at all OR some random sound that cannot be controlled by any parameters.
My Filter and AMP envelopes are set with a good amount of sustain and release. Changing them does nothing to the sound.
The filter settings do not respond.
The only way to adjust the sound is to manipulate the Master Cutoff.
In order to resolve this issue I usually have to cycle the power a few times. Only after that, does the MB begin responding to the changes that I am making on an initialized patch.
Please give me a shout if you know what's happening :)
Nik

Sounds a bit weird, have you checked the filter routing, parallel or series?
-
Yup, they're in parallel.
Switching them while this "weird" thing is happening does nothing. The only thing that alters the sound in any way is the master cutoff filter and obviously the notes on the keyboard.
Other than that, no other knobs/buttons respond
-
If you are not in panel mode does everything work as expected?
-
If I hit "Panel" while this is happening, it just switches back to the first stock preset that comes with the synth.
-
Ok, if you turn the MB on, select a preset and then start messing around with the knobs and buttons does the sound change?
-
Yup, while a preset is loaded, the controls respond as meant to.
-
Actually I think I have the problem.
You are entering Panel mode when you want to init a preset.
To init a preset hold the Panel button and also press Preset at the same time.
Pressing Panel on its on enters panel mode, where all the synths settings are defined by the current settings of the knobs and buttons.

Bob, thanks a lot!
What I've done is pressed and held the "Panel" button then pressed "Preset" and let it go.
That seemed to have done it.
I'm hoping something along these lines won't happen again.
If it will, I will contact you directly :D
Thanks again!!!

Good stuff, you are not the first to be caught out by this.
When it uses + in the manual you have to press both buttons at the same time.
Good luck with exploring your MB :)

Looks like you found a bug ! :-\
I'll log this on our side, sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for the details :)
