My votes in priority:

!. Roland Super JX-10 with PG-800 - Currently there is no soft synth that sound like this at all. So smooth.
2. Roland VP-330/ SVC-350 - Especially the vocoder part is'nt to find as soft synth.
3. Roland SH-1000 - A little innovative simple synth with unique sound.

All 3 is a good package.

None! Just further improvements of the existing synths. There are already too many synths out there, most being average at best. What makes a really good emu is one that has a long record of debugging, next to upgrades with parameters that are even closer matches with those on the original synths. As technology advances, so can virtual synths.
It seems logical to me that a Moog Modular VST as of 2015 should be (even) more accurate than one of 2003. If PC games and computer operating systems can look better after 12 years, then so should VSTs look (and sound) better.

I do agree that the present synths in the V-collection should be debugged and improoved etc... I think/ hope Arturia will do so. I believe that would be good for busisness.

I also agree that there are to many soft synths on the market that actually sound the same and most rather hard, cold and sterile sounding. That's why so many talk about analog sound even if that's not the issue.
But some sounds you do not find among soft synths yet. Like for instance some sounds from a true sounding Roland Super JX-10.

I too don't need more synths that sound like any other synth. But new different or better sounding soft synths is wellcome including refined older synths.

New synths that actually really broaden the sound palette of soft synths and sound different from others should not mean the older synths don't get improoved. In fact it would be nice and good if the old synths in the V-collection got further improoved, debugged, polished, refined and further developed in every aspect like sound, features, workflow including preset management, GUI, scaling etc...
I actually think Arturia could do much better in the competition if they did this. But a business also need new additions. The more the new addition broaden the sound palette the better. And the unique sounds of each synths should in my oppinion be in focus unless it's a single whole new hybrid synth that can do it all.

Rhodes Chroma. It's perfectly suited to a plugin, everything was patched using a parameter value.

1 octave midi bass pedal, ala "Low-Lab".

Just a simple, stripped down version of a Keylab controller, in a one octave midi bass pedal form akin to a Roland PK-5 or PK-6, with ability to foot select scenes or sounds, and scroll through presets in a live set.  Add bus powering through a USB connection, and you're good to go.

I'm holding out on this dream, rather than defaulting back to using the Roland units like I've used in the past.

From there could hook up my laptop, or iPad, and have a bevy of all of my recorded sounds ready to trigger with my feet.

considering you have so many components already, why not think about doing something similar to Softtube's 'Modular'? you could re-release individual elements e.g. Moog oscillators, SEM sweepable filter etc and let the user purchase/configure a virtual rack how they wished.

Cheers Jeff

I agree that there are enough synthesizers and plenty of emulations. Why not step out of that world and into the world of original instruments? Look at what the Brute series is doing in the hardware world. How about a full-bore Combo Organ that is not a take on one of the hardware models? or a real heavy duty Opus 3/Prelude/Symphonic Keyboard type. I have here some material of my own that arose from discussions in the Yahoo Groups ComboOrgan and some of my own ideas.

Ideas you may wish to develop. The first two came from and were part of, discussions on my Yahoo combo organ group, My nickname being "Laser". These referenced physical instruments we'd like to see and were under the titla FABULOUS FAKES AND FANTASIES

http://firststringers.spacepatrol.us/lasercombo.html

This was a comment on the combo scene fro c1967-72 and how everone was after the big monster

http://firststringers.spacepatrol.us/bugs.html

Now for the "Fabulous Fake", the idea here was to create a fake instrument (combo organ, following int footsteps of Barry Carson's "prototype Vox" that blew us all away) and a story to go with it. This was mine

http://firststringers.spacepatrol.us/elka.html

My latest illustration of ideas. This was aimed at the virtual instrument genre

http://mediazilla.spacepatrol.us/ultra%2067.html

I offer these to Arturia to develop the ideas into non-imitating instruments since I think that they do it the best. My Facebook notes have some comments on string synthesizers

https://www.facebook.com/notes/clyde-lyman/music-notes-on-string-ensemble-keyboards-real-and-virtual/893058594122285

The designs are from different timeframes and different discussions. You can mix them up, use the 67 ultra Gold, which was designed according to the prevalent ideas of 1966-9, as the combo of choice for the 7-octave split keyboard on the Lazer Combo. and integrate that into the "Lazer Duo" as the organ section. Also, since the first set of instruments, the purple and pink ones and the "Bugs" were made after hardware units and had the controls over on the left for user convenience IRL, You can move them to cover the entire non-keyboard body for virtual ones since hand convenience does not matter in virtuo

Got a B3 emulation in V Collection 5 but it's one of the worst out there. If you want a really good B3 emulation take a look at Acoustic Samples B5. And for those that have the Arturia emulation ditch the emulated Leslie and get the one from PSP called L'Otary. Heck even the Vintage Organs Hammond that runs in Kontakt is better than the Arturia version.

Yes, I want a Juno 106.  I have tried various VST instuments on the Roland Cloud - but they don't seem to work well on my equipment.  No matter what driver I choose, no matter what buffer settings, etc. I always seem to get clicks and dropouts.  With Arturia VST's, no problem.  I would love to have an Arutiria Juno 106!

Good to see you letting us see your wishes.
Maybe we could start a new poll with let's say, 3 votes per user, this could be easier to summarise your inputs as the former topic "What's next" is from 2004...

Removed my post as the thread I was participating was merged with this, but it was about hardware synths and wasn't about emulations, although every poster but the original posted what emulation they'd like......I'd like to see a new hardware synth out of Arturia, as I'm sure some many others do, but it would seem the forum doesn't.

To celebrate the alliance of Arturia and the Moog Foundation. Something completely different

1. The already mentioned Memorymoog: A rather straightforward, no surprises synthesizer (at least until you guys get through with "under the hood")
2. the Satellite or it's grownup version; the 2-oscillator Minitmoog: In it's time, it was a cute little bugger, the synth equivalent of the combo organ similar to the ARP Pro-Soloist and Roland SH-2000
3. Moog liberation. A decent monosynth strapped onto an organ style squarewave generator. It's junior edition, the MG-1 I have used and when you set the poly squarewave with the rung mod and the two oscillators in unison the sound is thick as a brick. The only thing I could see doing with that would be PW Mod and for the poly section add the sawtooth wave with a switch for square-both-saw then you would have something like the Treble section of the Hammond s100 chord organ
4. Polymoog: with 4 outs that you can send in different directions, who knows what you can do with that. And with 3 state variable resonant filters in different octaves (that were used to "balance" the KB) that was fun. The only things I would do with that was, since it was a top-of-the-line instrument would be to add a triangle and its LFO and make all the oscillators full 16', 8', 4' range and maybe have those ranges available all at once
5. Opus 3: A multi-channel KB that could be used as 3 separate "instruments" or in a coordinated fashion to generate 1 such as a decent piano. The only thing I found wrong with it was that it did not have an octave switch so you were stuck with the bottom 4 octaves. Some additions would be to make the Organ filter variable state resonant, apply the Strings filter to the organ when in the Strings mix, for the organ, a slider that mixes from square to sine wave and the odd harmonics, all three Brass octaves available at once, a 3rd strings footage (16') a paraphonic/polyphonic switch like you put on the Solina would be good, too. You could probably put these "under the hood" or straight up and re-badge it Arturia-Moog just as the MG-1 was "Realistic-Moog". I doubt you could control thiis or the Poly from even the KeyLab 88 and might have to control via a touchscreen

Actually, you could probably put these instruments in an "Arturia-Moog" package. THAT would set the world on fire, having further developments of the rather exotic Moog instruments. I bet Moog Foundation would go for that, having "new" instruments  as v 2.0 of some of their classics

Best of all an SFZ player similar to the rgcaudio used by Cakewalk, which is said to be able to have infinitel layering

Here's the bit with that. SFZis a kind of soundfont. New, the ordinary SoundFont SF2 reads a file that has the parameters and their values AND the samples in the same file. The SFZ player uses a file that has the parameters, and the Cakewalk sfz+ had a skin that would let you adjust the parameters, and the samples are kept elsewhere, in a sample foulder, The sfz file tells the player, which is shown where the samples are, what samples to use and maps them. They can also be user-written in a text file. The parameter names are synth terms such as "ampeg" and can be writtine either in a tex file then Renamed .sfz or using SFZedit. This means that any number of sfz "instruments" can use the same set of samples and that the SFZ player can use any of the samples in the folder. The infinite layering makes possible a situation where your samples can be organ  stops (Flute 16 Brass 16'. oboe 8', Flute 4' string 4', reed 4'...etc) and you can just keep on going. Also, as ARIA and Plogue are showing, you can skin the same SFZ player in different ways, including a drum machine

Now, here's where Arturia fits in the scheme, can you imagine a STANDALONE SFZ player that can be skinned to do as you wish, an organ, a string machine, a synth, a ...? You could have an infinite library of play files and samples. While high quality WAV files are best, it can play ogg and mp3 files of good quality since these files can be user-written with a very shallow learning curve. There would probably be a brisk business in files, skins and samples. Generallyspeaking, you want your sampes to be C(n) and F#(n) for each octave

Welllll...lessee...

Memorymoog+. Absolutely. Given how breakable the original hardware ones were, with the Autotune failure issue and myriad other problems, this would provide a RELIABLE version that never exactly existed.

Korg PS3300. The poly-monster patchable. Rare as hell, and therefore just about unobtainable.

Something based on the Bell Labs/Alles engine. Crumar GDS, Synergy, etc.

This might sound silly, but a CZ-series Casio, provided that the awful programming interface was majorly assisted by loads of 'under the hood' abilities, extra (or user-definable) waveforms, etc. Even crazier would be an emulation of the original 'CZ', the prototype Cosmo that was developed in conjunction with Dr. Isao Tomita.

ARP 2500. I'll toss my vote in for this one as well.

Same goes for a Buchla...in this case, a 200-series Electric Music Box (large-scale!) circa late 1970s, maybe with one or two replications of some of the 200e modules tossed in.

...and lastly, one for the steampunks: an emulation of the original Cahill Telharmonium. Yeah, let's wind the clock ALL the way back! Given that all of the diagrams for this were listed in Thaddeus Cahill's patents for the instrument back around the turn of the last century, modeling it should be relatively easy as long as the weird behavior of the tone-mixing coils and dynamo-based oscillators could be factored in. Yes, I know that this _presumably_ begat the Hammond organ; I would argue, though, that given the voltage levels, various nonlinearities and so forth (which would have to be coded for), this thing probably sounded not a whole helluva lot like a Hammond. Plus, the controller would have to be contended with, as the original had quarter-tone capabilities which may or may not be doable in a typical MIDI environment without a special controller. We have the emulation of the 'end-all' synth (Synclavier), so why not the 'be-all'?

Alesis Andromeda A6 - Analog Synth from this century. This could be great to have.

A few additional suggestions that might be availble to emulate to get some sounds that expand V-Collections sound palette for more musical genrers.  - Yes they are digital.

Ensoniq Fizmo and TS.
perhaps - Technics WSA1.
Perhaps - Hartmann Neuron even if that has been tried before.

As a matter of fact, I was thinking the same thing about the modules of the Modular V being pluggable into a virtual rack so that they could be moved around as needed.  The sequencer and chorus etc modules could be removed if not needed or placed on top (like the Modular V version 2)

The Novachord.

Hammond came out with this monster in 1939. It was the first electronic synth. But it didn't use integrated circuits, obviously. This baby used 163 valves for it's oscillators. The sound was super rich and warm. 72 note polyphonic. It used envelopes and filters that were controllable with large bakelite switches.

There is a fully restored Novachord that could be used to base an Arturia modeled version on here; http://www.discretesynthesizers.com/nova/intro.htm

I've got the sampled Novachord for Kontact from Sonicourture and it's a beautiful thing. Very lush. But a modeled version by Arturia would probably be even more better than samples given the capabilities of modern modeling technologies of analog systems. Plus the other things Arturia could add to it.

That's my vote.

Full-size 1960's Lowery Theatre Organ

Lowery began his experiments in 1918. Whereas Hammond used the church organ as his "model", Lowery used the Thatre organ, which had a full range of organ families, often featuring both Flute AND Tibia stops and a "Tremulant" effect which pre-dated the Leslie

Anoather theatre organ you might model would be the Schober from the 1960's which had, IIRC a full 9 pitch registers or even the Hammond theatre organ of the 1970's which had both the horseshoe console AND the full compliment of drawbars

At any rate a good full-bore theatre organ would be good complement to the B-3 as it would have Arturia include the instrument design philosophies of both major electronic organ compaies

Then two, Schober also had a Formal organ and a "consolette" which had two full KB's and a 17 note pedal board IIRC

My picks:

1. Hammond Novachord
2. Ensoniq SQ80/VFX hybrid, like the Prophet 5/VS hybrid
3. Yamaha SY99
4. The Vox/Hammond/Rhodes/Wurli stomp boxes available as a separate audio FX plugin. Far superior to emulations of filters I'll "actually use" but (unsurprisingly) don't.

Okay here’s some fun ones that would be great

-Movement MCS Drum Computer. Not many exist but would be freakin cool to get those crunchy drum sounds. Used by Eurhythmics and Genesis
-Sequential Circuits Pro-One: been itching for a VST of the Pro-One for years.
-Memorymoog for obvious reasons
-OBX Series
Emu Emulator series.  If the CMI and Synclavier were done, why not give the Emulator/Drumulator series a shot

Some added patches to existing synths
Some added drum machines to Spark especially more vintage units

A modular system based on the hardware found in the early 1950s-60s pre-Moog electronic studios of Bebe & Louis Barron, Raymond Scott, and various universities of that time.

E-mu Emulator II

DK Synergy

And for something bizarre, the Ensoniq Fizmo.

I'd love to see some Korg synths. I know the MicroKorg is still alive and kicking, but I'd still love to have a good software emulation of that. If nothing else, it had the same engine as the MS2000, and technically the MS2000 is historical relic at this point (hint, hint). Also,

Korg MS-20
Korg Wavestation
Alesis Micron/Akai Miniak

And I have to say it, just imagine what Arturia could do with the Casio SK-5 Sampler!

Oh, and how about some kind of supercharged Theremin (ala the Theremini), packaged with a hardware controller (or integrated into Keylab MkIII)

There already are VST emulations for the

MS-20 as well as the Wavestation by KORG.

They're in the KORG Collection right there with VSTs for the

M1 and also the ARP Odyssey.

I would be a bit unnescessary if Arturia would re-invent the wheel again IMHO

(The Polymoog has also already been emulated by Memorymoon,

and the VCS3 has already been done by XILS, quite a while back)

Rhodes Chroma.  I have two of them, but they aren't working.  :-[

One of the things that made the Chroma unique was that you could Ring Modulate the pulse outputs of the two VCOs (they used an EXOR logic gate).  This made some really interesting sounds; lots of bite.

Actually, there are some Taurus presets in the Mini Moog that are pretty spot on.
I can share some actual presets when I get home.  I've got a couple that I have tweaked to get into that "Tom Sawyer" growl & some of the stock RUSH Taurus Pedal presets.

It would be good to do a version of Yamaha TG33, or Kawai K1 or K4 or a Kawai K3 with Korg Dw8000 envelopes.  A hybrid machine that could both play the waveforms but the DW8000 envelopes are much more flexible and the timing of the envelopes on the K3 aren't even a quarter of the flexibility of the Dw8000 even though the K3 has more waveforms

Too soon for a Moog One?
Great option for a VST AAX as it is well beyond the average musician's price range.

You're talking about a physical MIDI controller for the bass like a Taurus but without the sound module right? Take a look at these? https://www.sweetwater.com/c513--Organ_Pedalboard_MIDI_Controllers (https://www.sweetwater.com/c513--Organ_Pedalboard_MIDI_Controllers)

BTW Geddy hasn't been using the Moog Taurus module for the last few tours Rush did before they hung it up. He's been using a pedal controller as has Alex had in his pedal rig. The only real Moog synth was the Little Phatty in his stage setup.

What would I like to see:
Crumar String Machine
Rhodes Piano Bass

Alex has been using a discontinued Korg Midi Bass Pedal for years, and Geddy something similar as the old Moog pedals required a great deal of maintenance.

I like the fact that the Crumar has both USB and Midi, so that I could use the device with my ipad to trigger sounds from the iMini & iSem.

I didn't know the company was still in business. The machine I'm talking about is decades old and probably older than many people on this forum  ;) And no MIDI or USB neither of which existed back then.

I've had Roland PK5's in the past, but them and the later PK6's have all been discontinued.
This Crumar seems like a good simple alternative.
The Kieth McMillian 12 step is a nice compact, viable option as well.

I'd love to see a separate VST for the Amp models with Guitar pedals so we can use them on all the synths instead of just the ones they are included with.

No thanks. There's WAY better 'guitar' pedal emulations out there. Amplitube being one. Let Arturia stick to what it does best.

I guess they already almost have this ability in Analog Lab, but without the Amps, just the pedals.  All they'd need to do is add a spot for the amp.

Another vote for some of the more relevant KORG synths (MS-20, M1, Wavestation). Yes, I know about the KORG Legacy Collection; I own it. It's from 2004 and it really shows its age. The interfaces are too small to use on modern screens, preset browsing is very unpleasant, there's no extra layer of FX and tweaking beyond the hardware in the way that Arturia has done with their emulations. And it occasionally crashes and they're *never* going to update any of the code.

Also the 'KORG' Odyssey.

An OBXa would be nice. I own the excellent OP-X PRO II vst, but it also could benefit from the Arturia treatment for the same reasons as the KORG stuff: small unscalable UI, presets divided up into banks that can only be loaded one at a time, no extra FX or tweaking, etc.

Would also love a Roland D-50, but I assume Roland will never allow that they have a competing VST -- which I'll never get because of their rent-forever/never-actually-own model.

I know nothing about synths beyond the '90s... but I assume someone's done something interesting since then. Maybe the Nord Lead? I think people liked that at one time.

Also the 'KORG' Odyssey.

I'd rather have the original ARP Odyssey. Actually they could combine the two the way they have the two versions of the Continental engine and have a switch to go between the versions.

Roland D50. But that won't ever happen considering Roland has their own D50 emulation through the Roland Cloud and so they almost certainly won't licence out the factory samples for Arturia to build an emulation around. But I utterly despise subscription-based software licencing and I refuse to subscribe.

Hello world of Arturia...
my vote is in a priority for the
- YAMAHA SY/TG77 or SY99 ( i guess that SY99 can read TG77 sys.ex patches )
i was trying many times to manually input by parameters, in NI FM7 / FM8 , some patches i am using in the TG77 but without success.
i am speaking of course about ONLY FM patches. Theorically, 6 FM op VS 6 FM op... but parameters never react the same.

16 MIDI channel multitimbral 1: NEVER DONE by Arturia VSTi emulation, so maybe a challenge for the GUI ? )

- Second synth should be a very rare FM from Elka, the Elka 44.
2x8 FM oscillators, 9 poliphony voices, multitimbral 8 MIDI channel ?

- Roland D-50.
i guess the problem from ROLAND because of their own emulation,
but their web vaporware cloud connected bidule and some weired strange annual subscribtion to make the VSTi working
doesn't inspire any trust from any musicien.
A musical instrument has NEVER to deal with some web connection to work. This is a future obsolescence.

A main goal to have VSTi is to have THE sound for far future in time, even if there is no more web site of the manufacturer.
So i resume :

-YAMAHA SY/TG77 or SY99
-ELKA 44
-ROLAND D-50

( for the story :
i owned a ROLAND MT32, and when i found the VST "MuntVSTi", this is the exact emulation of the real Roland MT32, with all it's behaviour, volatile RAM, 8 volatile memory pathces and so on, internal reverb... Exactly the same thing... in some so little vst DLL ! ... without the background noise !
Remixed all my compo using the MT32.
i NEED have one day, the same story with so used and inspiring Yamaha TG77 ....
)

Not a synth but a VST plugin effect unit maybe.

The legendary Marshall Time Modulator created by Steve Marshall (Steve St. Croix). There used to be one marketed by Intelligent Devices years ago which I think emulated the model 5002 and 5402 but it is no longer available.

I would immediately upgrade to a newer DX7 V? if Arturia provided an option to choose how the use classic FM frequency RATIOs between Carriers and Operators.

You could keep the existing "arturia" system and provide a software select switch to permit input of the classic/standard Ratio values that Yamaha keyboards and mostly all other DX software emulations utilize (FM8, DEX and others).   Essentially, this could be an input script that calculates the "converts" into the "expected arturia values" when providing well-known defacto standard frequency values/ratios.

So, instead of asking for NEW synths, why not improve the ones we own based on customer feature requests?   I would happily pay for an upgrade to a newer DX7 version knowing that when it comes to FM sound design I don't have to run all the ratios through a spreadsheet to calculate the 'hybrid Arturia" value.

Let me guess, this has already been fixed and all I have to do is upgrade to the new DX version :)
Gratefully.

Immediately on my list : Oberheim OB-X/Xa. I know there's a good emulation out there from SonicProjects, but I still feel Arturia could do it justice as well, and give it a few more options beyond what the original can do, like you did with all the other models in your catalogue.

While having owned an original DX7IID back in the day I wouldn't mind Arturia doing what you're asking about and it would help in bringing over old presets I found then as of now that I got/get most of my 'custom' presets by starting with a stock preset and tweaking things at will and not paying attention to what the numbers are saying. As long as we're talking about DX7's how about a true DX7IID? That way I wouldn't have to call up two instances on separate instances tracks and match presets/tweaks.

What else would I like to see?
a true Prophet 10 - the dual manual model
Rhodes Piano Bass?
DK Synergy aka Crumar GDS (General Development System)
Kurzweil K250

Agree about the Matrix Brute!

Watching the 2020 Winter NAMM coverage of the new synths, particularly the KORG Wavestate, my reaction was "that's nice and all, howzabout making a VST version?" No desire whatsoever for actual hardware synths, but would happily buy plugin versions of same.
