Hi, I just installed the new updates and now Wurlitzer V crashes the AU-Validation in Logic Pro 10.0.7 (OS X 10.10.1)
Also Oberheim SEM V and AnalogLab have the same problem. Jupiter 8, Mg Modular, MiniMg, etc. all validate fine.
-
Having same issue in Digital Performer 8.07, with Wurly V and SEM-V.
When I got to DP preferences and force re-examination of these AUs, they pass examination. However, when I restart the MOTU Audio System, the whole DP application crashes.
All software is up to date as of this writing. Downloaded and installed the latest versions of V-Collection 3 via the new ASC yesterday.
EDIT: See my next post below for workaround.
DP 8.07
Mavericks 10.10.1
2009 Mac Pro 8-core 2.26 GHz, 16 GB RAM
-
WORK-AROUND:
After you force AU re-examination, Digital Performer gives the option of re-launching the MOTU Audio System (MAS) immediately for changes to take effect, or waiting until the next re-launch of MAS (which would typically be a re-boot of DP).
When I chose the immediate re-launch of MAS, DP crashed. When I canceled the re-launch of MAS and then quit and re-booted DP, the Wurly (and SEM-V) appeared as expected.
Hope this helps, though I don't know how Logic manages AUs.

Hi,
bobk:
I'll answer on your other thread (http://forum.arturia.com/index.php?topic=83540.0), thanks for sharing your workaround.
mmillhoff:
Currently and after trying with several setups, we're unable to reproduce your issue at Arturia's.
Could you please try to clear your AudioUnit cache (cf. http://www.arturia.com/faq/utilization/how-do-i-clear-my-audio-unit-cache) ?
If it does not solve your issue, could you please check the exact version number of the Analog Lab, Wurli & ObSEM ?
Best

I just tried your suggestion and AnalogLab, Wurlitzer and SEM still crash.
Below is are the first lines of the crash report for AnalogLab.
If you need the full crash reports any other information, please let me know.
Kind regards,
Matthias

Meanwhile I upgraded to V-Collection 4 and the following plugins crash the AU Validation with Logic 10.0.7
Analog Lab 1.2.0.405
Matrix-12 V 1.0.0.414
Oberheim SEM V 1.3.0.400
Solina V 1.0.0.409
Vox V 1.1.0.409
Wurlitzer V 1.1.0.400
All other plugins validate fine, all plugins work in ProTools.

Hi mmillhoff,
We just released an update of the V Collection (available through the ASC).
Could you please try to delete your audiounit cache again, then install this update ?
I hope it'll solve your auval issue (we're not able to reproduce it on any setup at Arturia's).
Let me know if it fixes it.
Best

Unfortunately no change. The new versions also make Logic crash during AU-validation.
I have 1000+ AudioUnits installed and there are only 7 plugins failing the validation, the 6 from Arturia and RayBlaster from Tone2.
My Computer is a 15" Retina MBP from 2013, 16GB Ram, SSD, OS X 10.10.1, Logic 10.0.7
If I can help investigating the problem, please let me know!
-
Hello,
Some of our users had issues with the AU-validation, but removing the AU cache solved it, I'm sorry it doesn't work for you.
Could you please try to follow these steps:
- Delete (eventually, keep a copy of) those 7 audio units from your AU folder (/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components)
- Launch a blank session on Logic X
- Save this session and exit Logic
- Clear the AU cache again (http://www.arturia.com/faq/utilization/how-do-i-clear-my-audio-unit-cache)
- Reinstall one of the plugins that made Logic crash
- Reopen Logic and try to reload the saved blank session
If the two last steps work, repeat them with the other 6 plugins, until it makes Logic crash (hopefully it won't).
If it doesn't work, could you tell me which step caused the crash ?
Thanks,
Sam

I did what you advised. After successfully validating all other plugins again, I installed Wurlitzer V and Logic crashed during validation.
Any other idea?
-
Hi,
In the Finder, when you go to /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Component, if you select the Wurlitzer V.component, what's the version number displayed in the details panel (see attachments) ?
Maybe it hasn't been correctly installed.
Regards
-
same version number, same date, same size
today I set up a fresh system on a USB drive with only logic and the failing plugins and they validate fine. I'm investigating what the cause my be, but again, 99% of my plugins are not affected by this.
the guy from vengeance-sound released an update today which adressed a similar crash with one of his plugins (VPS scope) his plugin also validated fine on the fresh system, and now also on my main system, so maybe the bug is only showing up with a big number of plugins installed?
-
I just wanted to add to this thread that I am experiencing exactly the same issues. Hoping to find a solution soon!
To further add to the puzzlement of the situation - with the previous version, my desktop system would crash during validation of those plugins, but not my laptop system. However, since the most recent update, neither system will validate in Logic. It's very odd - no issues with Ableton or any other DAW's, just Logic.
I don't know if it's pertinent as I'm not a programmer, but all of the plugins that cause crashing appear in Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3, while the more stable ones don't.
-
Hello,
Mmillhoff & joelsquare, thanks for your feedbacks !
We're surprised by this behaviour and we still are not able to reproduce auval issue with those plugins.
We're continuing to investigate, your additional informations will be useful.
Best,
Sam
-
Any news on this? I still can't use have half of my Arturia plugins.
-
I came to check the same thing.
Doesn't seem to be any movement. I got hopeful when the last Logic update came out... but no changes. These are still the only Plug-in that crash Logic during validation. Weird and disappointing.
-
This is getting ridiculous. A new update for Matrix 12 and still crashing. Is there anyone listening at Arturia?
-
Hi All,
mmillhoff, yes we are taking your problem very seriously here but we don't reproduce it here on our test machines and it seems that most of LogicX users don't have any problem.
Could you PM me more details about your bug and i'll try to help you the best i can.
-
PM sent

WOW I got an answer to do the same "Delete your audio unit cache" procedure as I was advised already over a month ago (10 posts above)
HELLO ARTURIA, THIS IS NOT THE AUDIO UNIT CACHE OR MY INSTALLATION. I ALREADY TRIED THIS 5 TIMES.
YOUR INSTALLER / PLUGINS HAVE A PROBLEM WITH VERSIONING. AND ALL VST3 PLUGINS ARE AFFECTED.
sorry, its no longer possible to stay calm. Fix this or offer refund. Thank you.
PS: just tried it a 6. time and guess what? crashes exactly the same.
-
Finally self solved. It was most likely a corrupted LogicPro X preference file.
-
Cool ! ;D
Could you please tell us more about this pref file ?
It could maybe help some user !
-
I'll post it here when it is confirmed. :)
-
OK, this is how I fixed my problem.
delete ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.logic10.plist
Restart the computer! <- this is the important part, because Yosemite caches the preferences.
DONE
You will lose all your preference settings in Logic, but it takes only a few minutes to set everything right.
-
thanks mmillhoff.
Here is an interesting article of LogicX troubleshouting basics :
http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT200260
Have a look at part 9 witch is explaining the importance of the pref files.
-
Same problem for me. I tried to delete ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.logic10.plist and it didnt help anything.
>:(
3/4 of my Arturia plugins just stopped working 2 days ago...
-
Hum...
Could you tell me what happened 2 days ago.
Did you update something on your machine ?
Did you update you Arturia products in The Arturia Software Center ?
New version are available.
Witch plugin is not working anymore ?

I've hit an AU validation problem with Analog Lab, Oberheim SEM and Wurlitzer. I have done a full fresh clean install of my machine and have been reinstalling my plugins one by one and the 3 Arturia plugins are failing consistently.
I have followed the instructions here http://www.arturia.com/faq/installation/uninstall-remove-a-software dwonloaded the installers again via the ASC and managed to get Analog Lab and Oberheim to work breifly. Wurlitzer was persistant in its refusal to pass AU validation so I then followed the advice here http://www.arturia.com/faq/utilization/how-do-i-clear-my-audio-unit-cache and restarted Logic.
Now Analog Lab, Oberheim and Wurlitzer are all failing validation once again and causing Logic to crash
I am running osx 10.9.5 Logic X 10.1.1 Analog Lab 1.2.3.782 Oberheim SEM 1.3.1.9 and Wurlitzer 1.1.1.9
-
So is this the problem that is just never going to get fixed?
-
I had the same issues reported by many other users.
Plugins - SEM, Matrix, Solina, Wurlitzer, Vox and the Analog Lab crashed validation one day, having lived and worked on my Mac quite happily for around 6 months.
I tried various things to address, and was told by Arturia to delete, reinstall, check versions - all the usual stuff.
I did eventually have some success, and I can't now remember the exacts steps, butI think it was a combination of clearing audio unit cache files, plus deleting the com.apple.logic10.plist file
Alas I know have to work it out again because last week I upgraded to Logic Pro 10.2 and the problem immediately is back
I recall reading on another thread that Arturia have finally acknowledged there is an issue and are working on a fix. Please hurry up.
If I figure out the resolution that worked before I will post it.
